Reaching the world for Jesus Christ by linking hearts and hands
WMU

Mission Statement
God has called Woman's Missionary Union (WMU) for
 a special work....
That of teaching His people about being involved in His
plan.  God calls each of us to understand and embrace
the Great Commission as our own personal mandate.

The mission of Transylvania Baptist WMU is centered around
the areas of missions focus.  The list looks like this:

Pray for Missions     Engage in Mission Action and Witnessing

Support Missions
  Learn about Missions
Develop Spiritually toward a Missions Lifestyle

Participate in the work of the Church, Association and Denomination

  Vision Statement
WMU has the special task of providing missions education for all ages.  Thru age-level education curriculum magazines and mission offering promotions, the Western North Carolina Fair Ministry, the Red Box Prison Ministry, and the Pacific Rim Prayer Group, we challenge churches and missions leaders to recognize that God is calling us to serve Him in missions.

What an incredible opportunity we have to help guide, encourage, and challenge those hearing the Lord call them to be apart of reaching a lost world.

Our watchword in Colossians 1:10 (NKJV) says, "Walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God."  Let us walk this journey with Him as He guides us through His word, to understand, embrace, and live the call!

W.M.U. Report

The Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer was held with Grace Baptist Church on November 3.  Mrs. Lois Hannah led the program which featured a special time of prayer for our nation. Seven churches were represented and an offering of $61.00 was received.

Each  year  at Christmas WMU provides red shoeboxes filled with hygiene items to female prison inmates.  In 2008, churches across Transylvania Association provided  more than 300 bottles of lotion for the Red Shoebox Prison Ministry.

First Baptist Church hosted the pastors and wives Annual Christmas Dinner on December 8th.  More than forty pastors and wives attended the event.  Christmas music was provided by Mrs. Donna Freeman from Calvary Baptist Church.

Remember to pray for the WMU as we continue to spread God’s Word by teaching missions.

Mrs. Ann Stamey, WMU Team Leader
